SEND

Welcome to the SEND page of Hitchin Boys School. We hope that you will find the information here useful.

SENDCo: Mr Mat Wilson
Assistant SENDCo: Mrs Niki Mills

At HBS, we want every boy to achieve his best, including boys with additional needs.

We want them to become confident individuals, prepared for adult life - wherever that may lead - whether into employment, further or higher education or apprenticeships / training.

We will use our best endeavours to ensure that boys with SEND get the support they need – this means doing everything we can to meet their needs, ensuring that boys with SEND are included in all the activities and opportunities HBS has to offer.

We can only do this together. We involve parents and carers every step of the way - from transition in Y6, right the way through to GCSEs and A levels. We do this by having one formal opportunity to meet with us once a term, to review your son’s progress, as well as having open communication channels through email and meetings, whenever that is necessary.

Further information about this, as well as how we monitor boys’ progress, can be found in our SEND Information Report here.
