"We are proud to be a Mobile Free School."

At Hitchin Boys' School, we have introduced an effective mobile phone ban across the main school by equipping all pupils in Years 7 to 11 with Yondr pouches. Students switch off and seal their smart devices inside the Yondr pouch before entering the school grounds in the morning. They can then unlock the pouch when leaving school at the end of the day. 

We are seeing a shift in school culture due to being a phone free school. Boys are playing for longer, chatting more and generally engaging with their friends more than being distracted by their phones. Children have said they feel less anxious in school. They can leave their mistakes behind them and feel safer and more secure in school.
