Houston STEM Trip 2025

Houston STEM Trip 2025

In April 2025, 48 students travelled from HBS all the way to Houston, Texas, USA to visit the NASA Johnson Space Centre and enrolled on their Space Center University programme. Students participated in hands-on projects such as the Thermal Tile and Cryogenics Challenge, Rocket Construction and Launch, the Mars Habitat Nearpod Proposal/Challenge, the VEX Robotics Coding and End Effector Challenge, and the Lunar Rover Challenge; the winning group even had their Mars Habitat model displayed in the museum!

The group experienced Astronaut Scuba Dive Training in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL), Water Robotics, and met an astronaut on the final day of their programme.

Outside of NASA, students experienced an American movie theatre, visited restaurants to sample local cuisines, had a day out at Bayou Park to go on a hiking trail, took part in a reptile masterclass and saw alligators from a pontoon boat ride. They also had the chance to visit to a fairground and attended an NBA game!

All in all a very jam packed trips with minds broadened, thoughts expanded and so many new treasured memories.
